This Is Where Our Home is...Where is Yours? One of our mottos at VBC is "A Place to Call Home". Even though we would love to have any new visitors & members, we are much more concerned about every man, woman & child's home after they die. We believe, on the authority of God's Word, that anyone & everyone can accept the free gift of salvation offered by the sacrifice of Jesus Christ. 1. Did you know that God loves you?
He does! Some people seem unlovable, but God somehow still loves the whole world! He loves the whole world so much, that he paid for our sin in a very hard way. God sent his son, Jesus Christ, to pay for our sin by shedding his blood. I have some children, and I don't think I could allow my children to pay for the sin of other people & especially people who didn't even like him. God loves us! God loves you! 2. Did you know the Bible says that all men are sinners? Well, we are! No body has to tell me that I am a sinner, I show myself I am a sinner pretty often. Sin is what God does not want us to do. Sin affects even us in a bad way. Don't you hate it when someone lies to you or steals from you. That is some of the reason why God says that lies & theft is sin. God has our best interest in mind. We can't help but sin, because we are born that way & the Bible says that God can't even look on sin. Well, that puts us into a pretty rotten situation with God...so that same God who loves us made a way to have a relationship with us again. He paid for sin in full! That way the sin is washed away & He never even refers to it again.
Romans 3:23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;
3. Did you know that your sin has to be paid for? There are two ways that you can pay for your sin. You can accept the gift of Jesus' payment for your sin, or you can go to a place called Hell, (a place that was created for the devil & his demons) where you can pay for your own sins. Hell is a place of fiery torment that will never ever stop. So in reality, you never can pay for your sin in full. You keep being tormented, but never ever pay for all of your sin. That is not necessary because Jesus paid for your sin so you wont have to go to Hell, but to Heaven with him for ever & ever!
Romans 6: 23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
4. Did you know that Jesus Christ paid for your sin? He did...all of your sin...paid in full...for free! God used a simple woman who had never had any sexual relationship with a man, & conceived a baby in her belly... His son Jesus. Jesus lived a perfect life without sinning. He's different that us...he couldn't sin because he was "God, born in the flesh", so He didn't have the ability to at all. Jesus then gave his life as a sacrifice for all the world to die a torturous death on a cross. He was actually beaten, ridiculed, and nailed on that cross in order to pay for our sin. After He died, some of His followers buried Him, and three days later He came back to life, and days after that, He visibly went back into Heaven. Romans 5:8 God commended (proved or showed) his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us
5. Did you know that you can know that you will go to Heaven when you die? You can! This is the good news of the gospel of Jesus Christ...Heaven forever! The Bible says that you can have Heaven for free. In order to get something, you have to receive something. Aren't you sick of all the wrong stuff you do. Why don't you ask Jesus to forgive you of your sin. Are you doing that now? Go ahead...God wants to. Do you believe that Jesus died on the cross to pay for your sin. I know you didn't see Him on the cross, but do you believe what God says about it. If you do...that's faith. Do you believe that Jesus died and rose for you? If you believe these things you are ready to receive salvation from your sin, and escape from Hell. Romans 10:9 That if thou shalt (if you will)
confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine
heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. 6. I am asking you...will you will you get saved? Just ask Jesus to save you. You may not know how to pray like you think you need to...but God hears prayers from the heart, not fluffy neat sounding prayers. Here is a suggestion...I'm gonna give you some suggestions to ask God. 1. Tell God you know you are a sinner & ask Him to forgive you of it 2. Tell Him you believe that Jesus died on a cross to pay for your sin 3. Tell Him you believe he rose from the dead 3 days later 4. Tell God you are trusting Him to be your savior from your sin & from Hell 5. Tell Jesus thank you for saving you & finish your prayer "in Jesus name" Now this isn't a magical spell for eternal life, in that, if you just repeat it you got it. These are God's qualifications for salvation thru Jesus Christ, & it takes a fully trusting in what He said. Believing with your whole heart & turning from your sin with the help of God. If you did turn from your sin & pray these things believing, on the authority of God's Word...YOU ARE SAVED! Some people use the word "born again" or "asked Jesus in your heart" but all of these mean the same thing. The important thing is you WILL go to Heaven when you die!!! Congratulations!
