ABOUT OUR ASSISTANT PASTOR & YOUTH PASTOR Pastor Buddy Driggers
Pastor Driggers is a graduate of Crown College in Knoxville, TN. He graduated with a Bachelors Degree in Biblical Studies with a Minor in Music Ministry. While at college, Brother Driggers was a Bus Captain in the Children's Evangelistic Ministry where he brought children to church in a school bus for three years. He also worked with some of the same children in a special children's choir also for three years. After graduation the bus route continued and is still in strong operation today! Brother Driggers finished up his final year of college as the Intern Youth Pastor of VBC while commuting from Knoxville to Sylva every weekend. After graduation he accepted the position of the Assistant Pastor & Youth Pastor at VBC & has been serving since 2002. Pastor Driggers grew up in Bryson City & Cherokee, NC which is next to Sylva. He was saved at the age of 15 at a summer camp in south Georgia. He then moved from a public High School in Bryson City to Victory Christian School in Sylva, and later attended VBC. The Lord worked in Brother Driggers's life & after High School in '97 he attended & graduated Crown College. He returned as a staff member to VBC in 2002. In 1998 Pastor Driggers married Jennifer Stewart of Orlando Florida, and now has three children: Alyssa, Hudson, & Landon. His mother & 2 sisters still live in Western North Carolina. His father lives in Augusta, GA where he is a local business man and horseman. He also has family ties in Augusta, Orlando area, & West Palm Beach area. In addition to his responsibilities at VBC, Brother Driggers keeps up with some of the church property landscaping, automobiles & he also helps out in the school daily. The In April of 2006 the church decided to begin an addiction recovery program called Reformers Unanimous in which he Directs with the love & labor of several wonderful people in the church. Brother Buddy and his family are also involved in leading the Youth at VBC. He teaches relevant truths for teens today & uses mostly Pro-Teen Sunday School Material published by Positive Action for Christ. There are activities for all teens to attend every 4-6 weeks, from ages 12-18 or 7th grade to 12th grade. There are camps, VBS (NBT), camping, rafting, shopping, dinner shows, banquets, horseback riding, fun parks, snow skiing, local & non-local fun stuff!
